Metals technology technician apprenticeship

MAN Careers: Apprenticeship as a skilled worker in the field of metallurgy

Strike while the iron is hot: during apprenticeship to become a metals technology technician, you will learn how to use different processes to manufacture and assemble components, component groups or constructions out of metal. However, there is much more to do in our workshops. For example, you can learn about control technology, work with machine tools and even check the quality of the results of the work.

Your tasks

During your apprenticeship, you will learn how to:

  • Manufacturing components
  • Servicing equipment
  • Control technology
  • Fastening, securing and transporting
  • Assembling and disassembling components and component groups
  • Planning and preparing assembly and disassembly processes
  • Manufacturing connections
  • Monitoring and optimising assembly and disassembly processes
  • Apprenticeship, employment law and collective bargaining law
  • The structure and organisation of the apprenticeship company
  • Safety and occupational health in the workplace
  • Environmental protection
  • Implementing quality assurance measures
  • Internal and technical communication
  • Planning and conducting work

Your apprenticeship will last 2 years in total. For those with above-average performance, there is the opportunity to be considered for further apprenticeship in the metal industry.

Your qualifications

  • School leaving certificate (Hauptschulabschluss)
